I thank United Nations and its agencies as well as other international agencies for mutual extension of our work…directly or…indirectly…on GLOBAL ENERGY SECURITY along with ROCKFORD FOUNDATION during late 90’s leading to a new path towards a safe world for the coming generations. GLOBAL ENERGY SECURITY initiatives under the statesmanship of UN Secretary General are certainly desirable.

As anticipated by me, US President Clinton’s mention of KYOTO PROTOCOL**** (to UNITED NATIONS framework convention on climate change) on his South Asia visit to India and emission trading mechanism (popularly known as CARBON CREDITS) indirectly suggest carbon dioxide emission-free NUCLEAR / HYDRO POWER towards GLOBAL ENERGY SECURITY, where economic autonomy of certain concerned states in SOUTH (including GLOBAL GUJARAT) & its ENERGY SECURITY will be at stake.

Total privatization or PEOPLE’S DIRECT PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNANCE through CO-OPERATIVE COMMUNITY FUNDING in all new power plants for ALL STATES’ & INDIA’S ENERGY SECURITY needs to be considered on an URGENT basis to meet the desired WTO TIME-FRAME, which India is already running out in GLOBAL context due to a confused ENERGY SECURITY INITIATIVES at all stages of TOP LEVEL decision making & a total lack of ENERGY EFFICIENT ECONOMY, a strategy drastically missed by the FINANCE MINISTRY in the last BUDGET. ENERGY EFFICIENT ECONOMY concept provides an equal opportunity towards GLOBAL LEADERSHIP for the smallest of all.

To my total surprise, most of the CM (including GLOBAL GUJARAT) & PM webs had ignored their STATES’ & INDIA’S ENERGY SECURITY unlike the WHITE HOUSE web, thanks to the excellent LEADERSHIP by BILL CLINTON & AL GORE.

Ignoring lack of Gujarat’s role in Clinton’s South Asia visit to India, Gujaratis being the main community among OVERSEAS INDIANS, Global Gujarat’s CM meeting with US Vice President AL GORE, the key brain behind AMERICA’S ENERGY SECURITY INITIATIVES in recent times, is highly desirable.
